After part aways with the longtime and founding bassist David Ellefson earlier this year, the metal titans Megadeth have officially announced a new bassist James LoMenzo for their upcoming tour.
Although, LoMenzo previously played with Megadeth in the mid-2000s (2006 to 2010). The band is working on their new studio album, The Sick, the Dying, and the Dead.
“Tour rehearsals just began, and we cannot wait to start crushing North America,” Dave Mustaine said. “I’m happy to announce that former bassist and Megadeth alumni James LoMenzo has graciously stepped in on the Metal Tour of the Year.”
LoMenzo added: “I’m super stoked to be rejoining Megadeth for the upcoming Metal Tour of The Year. There are no better fans than Megadeth fans. I can’t wait to get out there and shred some Megadeth music with you all.”
Meanwhile, there is no official that LoMenzo will be the bassist on the Megadeth upcoming album. Earlier this week, frontman Dave Mustaine shared a photo of them in the studio and wrote: “Sending the album in for mixing. Final step. I can’t wait to play the new songs for you!”
